In 2024, 31 IT companies in Ukraine hired almost 3,000 «juniors» (specialists with less than a year of experience or no experience at all). Most often, beginners are hired for positions in Support and Software Engineering.
This is stated in a study by the DOU publication, which collected 31 responses from service and product teams in Ukraine. It indicates that in 2024, 2,970 juniors found work; almost as many as last year, when IT companies hired 2,920 juniors. Significantly, almost 1,000 more beginners, the situation was different in 2022, but then more companies provided hiring data.
«It is noticeable that hiring of junior developers has increased, although Support remains the main direction. There is also positive dynamics in the categories of QA, Marketing, Admin & Operations, Analyst, Design, DevOps, Product Manager,» the study notes.
At the same time, fewer Juners were hired in the SEO and Project Manager categories, and sales positions remained almost unchanged compared to last year.
