As reported by the Ministry of Defense, during the three-week training on the Troia Peninsula in Portugal, more than 100 unmanned platforms were coordinated via DELTA, and video streams from all devices were routed through the Vezha module — this allowed commanders to see the full picture, promptly distribute tasks, and synchronize the actions of units.
Within the framework of the scenarios, the integration of the latest STANAG standard was worked out, which confirmed the compatibility of the Ukrainian system with the Alliance protocols and paves the way for further standardization of Ukrainian solutions. The Ukrainian team was formed from military personnel of various types and branches of forces, and the Ukrainian Navy played a key role in naval episodes. As a result of the training, it was emphasized that DELTA can combine heterogeneous platforms into one circuit — from naval drones to reconnaissance UAVs — with continuous reception of telemetry and video.
The exercises brought together naval forces from 24 countries and focused on the practical use of unmanned systems in real maritime scenarios: patrolling, surveillance, target search and tracking, interaction with manned platforms, and data exchange between partners. For Ukraine, this is the second year in a row when its own digital management tools are used as part of a multinational team, and the first time when DELTA acts as the central coordination system at the level of the entire «red» team.
This is an annual NATO exercise, during which naval units test and coordinate the operation of unmanned systems in the maritime environment. This year’s cycle in Portugal lasted three weeks, combined tests of different types of drones and paid special attention to interoperability and data exchange between participating states. For Ukrainian developers, confirmed integration with NATO standards means easier access to joint projects and faster implementation of technologies in multinational missions.
