Ukrainian engineering company ROBONEERS announced that its remote-controlled combat modules of the «Shablya» line can now work with two Ukrainian-made weapons. This includes the integration of the 40 mm AGL-53 grenade launcher and the MG-50 QCB machine gun.

According to the ROBONEERS press release, the update concerns two modifications. The «Saber MK19» module was adapted for the AGL-53 automatic grenade launcher, and the «Saber M2» was made compatible with the MG-50 QCB machine gun. The company explains that the transition to domestic models should simplify and accelerate the use of modules on various carriers and reduce dependence on imported solutions. ROBONEERS emphasizes that this is part of the course to support the national manufacturer and technological autonomy.

A remotely controlled combat module is a stabilized turret that is placed on equipment or stationary positions, and the operator controls and directs it from cover. Such systems are used both as separate firing points for defense and as a combat «top» for ground robotic complexes to reduce risks to personnel.

ROBONEERS reminds that the «Shable» line already has configurations for weapons of various calibers. In addition to new integrations with the Ukrainian AGL-53 and MG-50 QCB, the modules are compatible with:

  • 7.62 mm PKT or M240 machine guns;
  • 12.7 mm M2 Browning or Canik machine guns;
  • MK19 automatic grenade launcher, caliber 40 mm.

The company calls the Sabre its flagship product for remote fire control and reconnaissance missions and notes that it is one of the first Ukrainian combat robotic systems to be codified for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. ROBONEERS works on ground robotic complexes, UAVs, air defense and situational awareness systems and claims that its products have been used in over 10,000 frontline missions.

Previously, dev.ua wrote about how Ukrainian Roboneers and NeoLens added an AI assistant to the Sabre remote turrets, which helps to quickly find proven instructions for diagnosing, configuring, and troubleshooting typical malfunctions in the field.
