Ukrainian startup NewHomesMate — a platform for selling new homes in the US — has attracted new investments and is changing its name again.
NewHomesMate was founded by Bohdan Hnatkovskyi and Sofia Vyshnevska in 2018. Then it was called Propertymate, and only in 2023 it became NewHomesMate. And now it is changing its name again to Jome, reports Forbes Ukraine.
«Many clients and even some employees consistently made mistakes in the name, which significantly limited marketing opportunities,» Hnatkovsky explained the startup’s third renaming. The Ukrainian project was also often confused with another company from a neighboring market. Jome is the final version, he assures.
Recently, NewHomesMate — now Jome — raised $9.8 million in Series A investment. The total funding has grown to $16.5 million.
The lead investor is Geek Ventures, an expatriate-focused American fund led by Ihar Mahaniok. Ukrainian funds U.Ventures, Vesna Capital, Roosh VC, Network VC, SID Venture Partners, Flyer One Ventures, angel syndicate Toloka VC, and American Forefront VP also joined the round.
As of May 2024, the company was valued at $30–40 million. The founder does not disclose the current valuation.
The platform currently operates in 16 major US cities, including Austin, where the startup is headquartered, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Miami, covering 90% of the available new construction market.
The startup will continue to expand in the US market under the new name Jome and plans to grow by 200-300% in 2025.
