Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced the Cabinet’s approval of a new procedure for guaranteeing the quality of defense goods, works, and services. How will this affect Ukrainian defense and military-tech manufacturers?
The new standards for the State Quality Assurance of Defense Products, developed by the Ministry of Defense in accordance with NATO standards, have been approved by the government, the ministry reported .
According to the report, for the first time, it has been regulated how the state controls the quality of weapons, equipment, and defense services. A clear mechanism will be defined:
From now on, Ukrainian manufacturers will be able to participate in joint contracts with partners, including export and import. And foreign companies will receive confirmation that Ukrainian products meet their standards.
«This is another step towards the integration of our defense-industrial complex into the Euro-Atlantic space. It is also an increase in trust in Ukraine as a partner capable of producing high-quality and competitive defense products,» the ministry said.
