Ukrainian TAF Industries and German Wingcopter signed a memorandum on the creation of a joint venture in Germany for the production of reconnaissance drones.
According to a press release from TAF Industries, the document was officially signed on February 13 as part of the 62nd Munich Security Conference with the participation of representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Germany. The company explains that the location of the joint venture in Germany should diversify production and reduce industrial risks to ensure continuous supplies of equipment to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The partnership was formed within the framework of the Build with Ukraine program.
As part of the project, TAF Industries will provide licensed designs and production experience in creating reconnaissance drones, which, as the company notes, are already used by the Ukrainian military in real operations. Wingcopter, for its part, will provide industrial infrastructure, production expertise and engineering resources to quickly scale up production in Germany. To work in the defense segment, the German manufacturer is deploying a new division, Wingcopter Security & Defence, which is to become the technological and industrial backbone of the joint venture.
TAF Industries CEO Volodymyr Zinovsky commented: "For TAF Industries, expanding production of systems that are already saving lives on the front lines is a priority. This joint venture combines our battlefield-proven innovations with German industrial power, transforming operational expertise into scalable production."
In addition to releasing existing systems, the partners plan to jointly develop and localize future drone platforms for the European market and NATO.
This is a German developer of UAVs for logistics and remote sensing. The company is developing the Wingcopter 198 platform with a patented rotary rotor mechanism that provides vertical takeoff and landing and efficient long-range flight.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how in August 2025, a well-known Ukrainian manufacturer of FPV drones rebranded the company , changing its name from TAF Drones to TAF Industries. This change is in line with the company's goals - to form a holding structure, where TAF Industries acts as the parent company.
