In an address to the Verkhovna Rada, Neklyudov called Roblox a platform popular among children and adolescents, where, in his opinion, there are games that «promote violence, war, debauchery» and encourage minors to spend money. He claims that excessive addiction to Roblox can lead to disruption of the daily and sleep routine, loss of interest in studies, and conflicts in the family.
Separately, the MP emphasized the risks of children communicating with users who may commit illegal acts of a sexual nature, engage in extortion, induce prostitution, or offer prohibited psychotropic and narcotic substances. Neklyudov linked the problem to the consequences of martial law, when parents more often allowed children to spend time on gadgets, but, according to him, this could have the opposite effect.
The deputy reported that he had already sent parliamentary appeals to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, as well as to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine to verify the facts he cited. In addition, he asks to involve relevant authorities in studying the issue, in particular the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Neklyudov also stated that in a number of countries the use of Roblox has allegedly already been restricted or banned, and called for «protecting our children» from negative consequences.
