The Defense Ministry's Innovation Center has announced a hiring wave for IT specialists and is looking for candidates with combat experience who are ready to work on digital products for the Defense Forces.
According to the job portal, which publishes a list of Innovation Center positions, there are currently 14 open roles in Kyiv. These include product positions and middle and senior developer roles: Senior iOS, Senior Java and Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js), Senior Python and Senior Frontend Engineer, Senior CV/ML Research Engineer, Senior MLops Engineer, as well as Product and Project Manager, Business Analyst, DevOps, Middle Frontend Engineer, Product designer and Technical writer.
The Center emphasizes that a separate recruitment process is underway for veterans and former military personnel who already have commercial experience in civilian IT and want to apply it along with the skills acquired at the front. Candidates are offered civilian employment, a market salary, and work in an office in Kyiv; some positions require a polygraph test at the final stage of selection.
The full name of the structure is the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It combines civilian IT specialists and military professionals who create digital defense solutions. The team's key product is the DELTA combat situational awareness system, which helps coordinate the actions of units on the battlefield, aggregating intelligence from different sources into a single picture.
New specialists will work on the development of these solutions: from backend and frontend to computer vision models, analytics tools and services for military users. The employer emphasizes candidates who understand the context of war and are ready to apply their technical skills to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how in two years the number of vacancies in the field of defense technologies at DOU has increased twenty times , but there have been fewer people willing to respond. Most often, they are looking for specialists in "hardware", and employers mostly call to work in the office, not remotely.
