According to Steam Charts , the debut week was very successful for the new game about secret assassins, with Assassin's Creed Shadows streams generating over 10.9 million hours of viewing - the third highest among all new games in 2025. The peak number of viewers reached 250,777, and the peak number of channels stopped at 5,383.
The primary platform for Assassin's Creed Shadows streams during the first week was Twitch, accounting for nearly 81% of total watch hours. Streamers from the United States, Germany, and France contributed the most, accounting for 31.9%, 11.9%, and 8.3% of total watch time on the platform, respectively.
When comparing Assassin's Creed Shadows' release to other new games, Ubisoft's game ranked third in terms of watch time, well behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. However, the game still beat out other popular releases such as Split Fiction, Avowed, and Sid Meier's Civilization VII.
Assassin's Creed Shadows' debut week compared to other games in the franchise, garnering twice as many hours of viewing as Assassin's Creed Mirage. However, it failed to surpass Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which garnered over 13.7 million hours of viewing in its first week of release.
