The number of vacancies on the Ukrainian IT market has increased significantly in six months, the demand for young professionals and artificial intelligence specialists has broken records, and competition for vacancies has decreased to a minimum in two years.
The number of vacancies on the Ukrainian IT market has increased significantly in six months, the demand for young professionals and artificial intelligence specialists has broken records, and competition for vacancies has decreased to a minimum in two years.
According to the monthly IT job report from jobs.dou.ua, the first half of 2025 was the most successful since the start of the full-scale invasion. From January to June, the number of vacancies per month increased from 4–5 to 5–6 thousand. In June, 5967 vacancies were published — although this is not the peak of the year, it is significantly more than in June 2024 (+1681 vacancies).
The most dynamically growing categories are AI/ML (+115% in half a year), military (+145%) and SAP (+102%). In June, a record 132 vacancies were published in AI/ML. Miltech is also strengthening its position: 436 offers per month, which is 233 more than a year ago.
In June, there were an average of 25 reviews per IT vacancy. The highest competition was for front-end developers (92), QA testers (62) and project managers (52). The lowest was for Scala, SAP and hardware specialists.
The number of offers for specialists with up to a year of experience (+26%) and for beginners without experience (+7.6%) has increased noticeably. The largest number of such vacancies is in marketing, HR and user support. The number of vacancies also increased in Kyiv (+18%), Lviv (+18.8%) and for remote work (+18.5%).
Over the past six months, the number of companies posting vacancies has increased by 11,4%. The most active employers remain Genesis, N-iX, PIN-UP Global, as well as representatives of the defense sector, in particular the Association of Armament and Military Equipment Manufacturers. Analysts note that the market is showing signs of recovery, with growing demand for AI and miltech indicating a change in priorities in the war economy.
We previously wrote about how Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digitalization, reported that the number of applications for vacancies in the Reserve+ application has doubled since February of this year. At the same time, competition for IT positions has decreased — currently 10 candidates are applying for one such vacancy.
