How to properly brief leads and develop strategic thinking for an SEO specialist: a guide from Netpeak
Have you ever wondered why some SEO specialists are always one step ahead, while others «sluggish» without understanding how to choose a strategy for their own development? The skill of strategic thinking in SEO allows you not only to develop effective strategies, but also to understand their impact on long-term results. Moreover, studies show that about 80% of successful SEO campaigns start with the correct formulation of queries at the briefing stage. In part 2 of the guide, I will talk about how to effectively navigate SEO relevance and how to properly brief leads. In addition, I will share additional tips for developing strategic thinking.

"You feel like a salmon swimming against the current, and you are being shot with a shotgun at the same time": the co-founder of the Fintellect startup talked about launching the product before the full-scale war and his service in the army
Danylo Golota is the co-founder and CMO of the Fintellect startup and a 3OSHB serviceman. His team describes the eponymous application as a «smart platform for managing money for service companies.» In particular, these are design studios, IT outsourcing, consulting companies, and other businesses that sell professional services. Despite the fact that the product appeared at an inconvenient time — just on the eve of a full-scale invasion, and part of the team actively volunteered, they had enough strength and perseverance to significantly improve the first version of the application and bring it to the market. In 2023-2024, the startup attracted investment and entered the American Berkeley Skydeck accelerator. At the same time, Danylo himself has moved from active volunteering to serving in the ranks of the Defense Forces. He does not disclose his current role in the 3rd Military School, but in an interview he makes it clear that he is currently applying his professional skills and IT background in the army. From dev.ua, Danylo Golota talked about how the product came about and what plans the team has for the near future; how you manage to promote it while being in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and what it takes to get noticed in the army and use your acquired skills rationally.

Number porting to lifecell is working again - the state database has resumed work
On December 23, the Centralized Database of Ported Numbers (CDB) resumed its work. On December 20, the Ukrainian State Center for Radio Frequencies (UDCR) conducted technical work to increase the capacity of systems involved in processing applications from subscribers changing operators. This was due to the abnormally high demand for porting numbers to the lifecell network in December, which significantly exceeded the technical capabilities of the Centralized Database.

Monopoly of service providers is one of the possible reasons for a large-scale cyberattack. Many Ukrainian departments work with certain contractors who monopolize access to systems, as a result, they are not updated and modernized. Such a monopoly makes it difficult to control product security. What other reasons do experts name?

The idea for this interview was born spontaneously when the girls approached dev.ua CEO Stas Yurasov at this year’s IT Arena with a question — is he the same person who now heads the Kyiv IT cluster? We became curious — who is this mysterious leader who currently oversees the association of capital’s tech companies? After several attempts, dev.ua managed to contact and talk to Serhiy Yashchuk, who became the CEO of Kyiv IT Cluster in September. He told how he became the head of the Kyiv cluster, what has changed in the organization since the start of the full-scale invasion, what requests cluster members make, what tasks the organization sets for itself for 2025, and what businesses can expect in the near future.

According to Airbnb Co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky, the format of regular one-to-one meetings with direct reports is fundamentally flawed. He avoids regular personal meetings with employees as much as possible because he doesn’t want to be «like their therapist.» However, psychologists emphasize the positive effect of this practice and advise devoting about 25 minutes a week to such communication. Some companies have already adopted this practice. dev.ua decided to ask Ukrainian team leaders how they feel about one-to-one meetings with employees, whether they see an effective result, and whether they don’t mind spending time chatting.

Currently, one of the biggest challenges in recruiting is the high competition among companies for the best candidates. There are many specialists on the market, but finding top employees is quite difficult. That is why it is important to quickly process candidate feedback and guide them through all stages of the offer. Minimizing routine tasks and automating processes will help with this. In this article, Natalia Kravchenko, Recruitment Lead at Boosta, will share tools that help you complete everyday tasks faster.

Anton Protsiuk has been developing the free encyclopedia Wikipedia in Ukraine for more than 12 years. To do this, he has several roles. The first is the head of programs for the public organization Wikimedia Ukraine, which is not part of Wikipedia, but supports its development. For example, he develops Ukrainian education through trainings and programs in which he uses Wikipedia's achievements on a more serious level. The second is a volunteer, editor, and administrator who writes articles for Wikipedia. “When you do this, you learn something new yourself, your materials are read by millions of people, and you help the Ukrainian language and free knowledge develop,” Anton says about his motivation. Further in the article you will learn how (in numbers) the Ukrainian-language Wikipedia feels today, what Ukrainians are currently reading the most among its articles, how unethical organizations that seek to build a business on "free knowledge" work, and how one programmer managed to "raise" the Cebuano language of the Philippines thanks to the "Free Encyclopedia."

Small and medium-sized businesses are being targeted by cybercriminals. How does this happen and how can it be avoided?
Although we don’t often see headlines about another cyberattack on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), this does not reflect the reality. SMEs are increasingly becoming targets of cyberattacks, and not only the companies themselves, but also their employees and customers, suffer. Unlike large companies, SMEs almost always prefer not to talk about it publicly, as for a small company such an incident can have a significant impact on its reputation and future existence.

"People were calling even at the beginning of the full-scale war. Rockets are flying, the russians are near Kyiv, and they say: we need to hand over the batteries!". Former IT worker and leader of the "Batteries, surrender" movement Lyubov Kolosovska about the battery recycling market and what it lacks
Former IT worker Lyubov Kolosovska founded the organization «Batteries, Surrender» in 2013. Since then, it has grown from a small eco-initiative to a nationwide movement that provides centralized collection and recycling of batteries from all over the country. According to Kolosovska, managing and scaling this project is extremely difficult, and there are many reasons for this — they were discussed in an interview, in particular. Nevertheless, this process is moving steadily, which can be seen in the numbers of batteries exported abroad for recycling, the increase in the network of points and the number of volunteers involved, and the joining of new retail chains to the project, stores that are the main source of collection of used batteries. dev.ua has been arranging an interview with the founder of the «Batteries, Surrender» movement for over a month, because she has virtually no time and resources left for media activity. But when we finally managed to do it, Lyubov Kolosovskaya told us about a number of things in the process of recycling batteries that cannot be found on the Internet.
