Responsible gaming: the Swedish experience
Adherence to the principles of «responsible gaming» in European gambling is noticeably transforming. The development of the gambling markets of the EU countries in recent years clearly shows that today it is not a unique option, but a basic standard.

A death zone 50 km wide. The new capabilities of FPV drones have made even the deep rear and front-line cities dangerous. On both sides
Along the entire front line, a death zone is apparently forming, the width of which reaches 40 kilometers or more. Moreover, this becomes a gray area for both sides — our fighters and the Russian occupiers. Frontline cities — Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Sumy — are also at risk. The reason for this is fiber-optic FPV drones, which are starting to fly at much greater distances.

“Attack on anti-corruption agencies will negatively impact defense investments and reconstruction financing.” International partners concerned about Law No. 12414
While Ukrainians continue to gather for actions and rallies against Law No. 12414, which limits the independence of NABU and SAPO, international organizations have expressed concern and reported possible severe consequences for Ukraine.

"You won't find a job in Ukraine if there is no Ukraine" and "We've already arrived, is there still a chance?". Aitovites and tech entrepreneurs - on subordinating the SAPO and NABU to the Prosecutor General and limiting their powers
At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on July 22, deputies voted for a draft law, some of whose provisions limit the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and subordinate their activities to the Prosecutor General.
It transforms anti-corruption bodies into institutions dependent on the Prosecutor General. Previously, they were politically independent, and other bodies did not have the right to investigate cases that were assigned to the NABU and SAPO.
On this occasion, rallies were held in major cities of Ukraine, the participants of which urged President Volodymyr Zelensky not to sign the document. Interestingly, the initiator of the gathering in the capital was veteran and IT activist Dmytro Koziatynsky. The pickets were supported by residents of Odessa, Lviv, and Dnipro.
Meanwhile, in the parliament, a mystical event occurred with the bill, which was supposed to be signed by the president as the next step — first it disappeared from the Verkhovna Rada website, then the bill card that reappeared on the website had the status «returned with the president’s signature.» Later, this information was changed. A few minutes before midnight, the inscription «returned with the president’s signature» was returned.
Discussions are underway around the document. However, there are far more dissatisfied people than those who are happy with the hasty adoption of such an initiative.
dev.ua collected the opinions of IT professionals and quotes tech entrepreneurs on this subject.

The President called for contracting all effective interceptor drones to counter the "shaheeds." We understand how they work, what is on the market, and how effective they are compared to other air defense systems.
In recent weeks, Russia’s “shaheed” attacks on Ukraine have become more massive: on the night of July 21, 2025 alone, the enemy launched about 450 air targets. Against this background, German General Christian Freuding warned: “Russia intends to launch up to 2,000 drones into Ukraine simultaneously.” To overcome these challenges, interceptor drones are coming to the forefront — high-speed quadcopters with warheads capable of catching up with and blowing up enemy UAVs on approach.
Ukrainians have created a RegTech product that automates compliance and financial monitoring procedures. How AI FINTECH startup AML.point saves Ukrainian companies time and money
Ukrainians have created a RegTech product that automates compliance and financial monitoring procedures. How AI FINTECH startup AML.point saves Ukrainian companies time and money
Ukrainian financial institutions — banks, MFIs, insurance and leasing companies, payment transaction providers — are now forced to meet the requirements of the NBU on financial monitoring, sanctions, and compliance. Manual verification of clients and generation of reports take up dozens of hours of specialists' time and company resources every day, and increase the likelihood of errors and fines.
With recent changes in legislation, financial monitoring in Ukraine has turned from an «option for banks» into a mandatory procedure for a much wider range of businesses. Now, not only financial institutions are subject to the requirements, but also accountants, auditors, notaries, bar associations, lottery organizers, and others. Ignoring the new rules is too risky: fines for violations can reach tens of millions of hryvnias. So Ukrainian business has found itself facing a new reality — in which automated solutions are indispensable.
Fintech company Finpay and leasing company Winner Leasing know how to avoid unnecessary costs and determine 100% compliance with the NBU criteria. Thanks to the use of the AML.point service, created by the Ukrainian IT company AI FINTECH, these businesses built all financial monitoring processes on a turnkey basis. This made it possible to significantly reduce the time and costs of resources and personnel required to perform customer identification and procedures aimed at preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
dev.ua talked to the CEO of the AML.point startup, Oksana Gubina, and learned how the service works, which helps avoid penalties and save money and business reputation.

Cities against drones: is the civil security system ready?
Over the past year, Russia has changed the tactics of using FPV drones. If earlier they were a weapon for the front — a means of destroying equipment and infantry in the «gray zone», today they have become an instrument of terror. Silent, cheap, almost invisible — FPV drones are increasingly striking civilian objects: hospitals, highways, water supply systems, schools. And increasingly — in cities that are dozens of kilometers from the front line.

“You don’t realize how many elephants are around you until you start looking more closely.” How EPAM, SoftServe, Railsware, and others motivate IT professionals to count elephants, see psychologists, and take sabbaticals, saving them from burnout
Senior Software Engineer SoftServe Roman worked on one project for 10+ years. He liked this stability, but over time he felt deep fatigue and inner exhaustion — he wanted to rest, change the rhythm, find new meanings. When his project finally came to an end, Roman decided to take a sabbatical. At first, he thought it would be for a month or two, but in the end — from October to February. The first month he reflected a lot, spent time with his family. In the second — he allowed himself to simply relax, without pressure. Already from the third month of the break, Roman felt a desire to learn again, discover new technologies — in particular, develop in the field of Big Data. So he started looking for such opportunities in the company and soon joined a new project for the position of Big Data Software Engineer.
And EVO specialist Natalia worked on an important project that required high involvement, frequent communication with various stakeholders, and constant focus. Over time, she began to feel strong emotional fatigue, lost motivation, and stopped rejoicing even in small victories. She turned to a corporate psychologist, with whom she had several individual sessions. In the process, they discovered that she was on the verge of burnout. Together with the leader, they agreed on a decision to take a long vacation to restore her resources and emotionally «reboot». After returning, Natalia returned to her duties and is now implementing an initiative that she had planned for a long time, but did not have the resources for.
These two stories are about IT professionals who were burned out from super-intensive work and needed a break to regain strength and recharge. Such cases are not uncommon in Ukrainian IT. Due to workload, high level of responsibility, intensity and complexity of work, IT professionals often feel exhausted and lose productivity. The burnout epidemic in IT is a familiar phenomenon. So dev.ua asked key employers in the industry how companies monitor the psycho-emotional state of specialists and help them regain strength when they are on the verge of burnout.

If earlier the pipeline consisted mostly of millennials, predictable, structured, familiar with the «office» culture, now Gen Z is increasingly coming. And with them the rhythm, language of communication, and work demands are changing.

This is exactly what we are talking about in a special project supported by Philip Morris Ukraine.

Which country to choose for a SaaS business?
Many entrepreneurs, when launching their SaaS product, focus on the code, marketing, and users, but forget about one critically important detail — the country of business registration. The jurisdiction determines not only the amount of taxes, but also the ability to connect to payment systems, open an account, attract investments, and generally be visible in the global market.

The incident prompted her to think: why do we often devalue the expertise of our acquaintances, and is it okay to ask an expert to «take a look» just like that?

One glove, expired preparations, an icon, and a pile of stones. 10 of the most unusual purchases at SETAM electronic auctions that you can buy right now. But is it worth it?
In the last days of June, at the electronic auction of the seized property of the state enterprise SETAM, a cut hornbeam branch caused a stir, which during a fierce auction was sold for 1,550 UAH instead of the starting price of 90 UAH. This story made the news and, of course, became the subject of memes and jokes. Actually, it is difficult to imagine that the winner of the auction, Iryna Yuriivna Antonyak, perceived this in any other way than as a joke, because the author’s imagination simply cannot imagine another motive. If so, then Ms. Iryna is a serial joker or has a special reverence for tree trunks — she has already won the auction at SETAM for four pine trees. However, in this auction, the pine trees did not have enough media coverage, and they were sold for only 75 UAH (the starting price). Actually, it would not be superfluous to remind you that the winner of the auction can simply refuse the winning lot, and in Ms. Iryna’s place, any adequate person would do so (but this is not certain).
