Employees of companies come and go, but the problem of their access to corporate software remains. It is quite difficult to manage many passwords and license accesses, especially if it is a large company with different departments and hundreds of employees who use completely different software. This is a question of both security (when a dismissed employee continues to have access to certain software products, especially if they contain sensitive information), and cost overruns (when the same dismissed employee continues to use licensed software with a paid subscription from the previous employer for his personal interests).

Yuriy Vykhnevych, co-owner and technical director of the Internet provider BestLink, developed a universal battery management system that protects equipment from voltage drops and helps maintain communication during blackouts. Today, his system helps maintain stable Internet for more than 120 communities in Ukraine, which is extremely important for Ukrainians, who have been suffering from Russian drones for the fourth year. dev.ua talked to Yuri about his development, life path, and plans for the future.

During power outages in high-rise residential buildings, one of the most common problems is residents getting stuck in elevators. Some try to use elevators only during periods when outages are not predicted. Some have refused to use elevators at all (although there are categories of people for whom this is difficult or practically impossible). Still others rely on chance or — in the event of a jam — on neighbors, condominium employees, rescuers, or elevator maintenance services. We wrote about this decision a year ago, but its relevance has not diminished at all.

One of the winners of this year’s startup competition at IT Arena 2025 was HEFT — a startup that offers a health, mobility, and fertility tracker for cows in the form of a special collar. In the startup competition during this event, HEFT took second place and took home a prize of $10,000, only losing out to Ovul — a startup that created the world’s first hormonal tracker that determines fertility and estrogen levels in women. An interesting coincidence, but instead of inappropriate sexist jokes, we simply state — it’s really cool that Ukrainian startups are solving this problem, and not only for their own species :)

Daily attacks on civilian infrastructure in cities and villages, horror stories about winter without gas and electricity, as well as constant «all-out burning» in the news from the front, complete clouding of the brain and one’s own future, and, worst of all, news of the dead: both casual acquaintances and very close and dear people. The word «stress» is too weak to describe the reality of Ukrainians in any way. Nevertheless, it is now impossible to imagine any other place on the planet where the issue of combating stress, overwork, tension, as well as psychological disorders and mental illnesses would be more relevant than in Ukraine.

Three friends (a product manager, a marketer, and a programmer) launched Clipwise.io, a video editor that allows users to record and edit educational videos, complete with a presentation and screencast. The startup generated over $300 in revenue in its first three weeks. Andriy Osypenko, Senior Technical Product Manager and co-founder of the startup, told how to launch a product without investment — only at the expense of your own time — and conduct a free CustDev in a way that maximizes the needs of the target audience.

In an era when information spreads at lightning speed, the ability to work with open sources has become a superpower for many. OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) allows you to analyze huge amounts of data coming from the media, social networks, open registries and other resources. Ukrainian medtech startup Cardio.AI has combined medicine and artificial intelligence. The company uses disposable sensors for long-term heart rate monitoring, and deep learning algorithms mark each heartbeat. The startup is developing a hormone tracker that analyzes saliva and accurately determines the level of estrogen, which is critical for women’s health. Ovul has already been recognized by the IT Arena 2025 jury, which included the gadget in the finalists of the startup competition.
