Latvian company Tet is building one of the most modern and energy-efficient data centers in Northern Europe, costing over 30 million euros. The DC7 data center is completely «green»: the heat from the servers will be used to heat the neighboring city of Salaspils. In addition, the data center will be equipped with innovative technologies, including a liquid cooling system for racks for the use of artificial intelligence with a capacity of 30 kW to approximately 100 kW with NVIDIA graphics cards.
dev.ua visited the construction of the new DC7 data center, which will be ready to receive the first customers, including from Ukraine, in September 2026.

In the world of artificial intelligence, speed is not an advantage, it is a condition for survival. AI models require enormous amounts of data and computing power. And when the delay between data and calculations is even a few milliseconds longer, a business can lose accuracy, money, or a competitive advantage. Hence the new reality: today , data is not sent to data centers, but data centers are placed closer to data sources. (AI doesn’t wait for the data to arrive — it “goes” to it.)
