In two years, Ukrainian defense tech has gone a way that classical industries take decades to achieve. From a niche segment, it has transformed into one of the most scarce markets for engineers — with its own salaries, rules of the game, and barriers to entry. At first glance, it looks like a classic «overheated» market: lots of vacancies, aggressive hiring, and salaries that are supposedly on par with IT. But if you dig deeper, the picture is much more complex — and much less clear-cut.

It’s been nearly three years since Silicon Valley began aggressively pushing chatbots like ChatGPT as the inevitable future of everything. And no group has felt the pressure more acutely than Generation Z. Despite the stereotype of lazy youth looking for easy ways, buzzers are voicing some of the loudest and most detailed objections to generative AI. New Gallup data shows that just 18% of Gen Zers say they feel hopeful about the technology, down from 27% last year. The share of those who believe the risks of AI outweigh the benefits has risen 11 points in a year, to nearly 50%.

Amid the boom in artificial intelligence and changes in the job market, more and more people are questioning the value of higher education. But tech leaders — those directly working on these changes — are in no hurry to abandon universities.
