Around IT

Anthropologists of the future will still analyze how the mass transition to remote work has changed our professional lives. Already, isolation, less live interaction, and high competition in the market are observed. In response, self-organized communities are emerging — from small groups to large-scale networks that create space for development and exchange of experience. Serhiy Yevtushok, Senior Java Developer, founded the IT community Litcoders, which now has hundreds of specialists who can communicate, exchange experiences, and make friends. Serhiy tells us how the idea of creating the community came about and how the organization currently functions.

At the beginning of the year, all Ukrainian media outlets, even those for which technology is far from the main topic, were bombarded with news about the government’s plans to establish domestic microchip production. This goal was identified as one of the strategic goals in the Strategy for Digital Innovation Development of Ukraine until 2030 (WINWIN), approved by the government in January. At the end of May, the Ministry of Digital Affairs also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Semiconductor Association, which stipulates that the state will support scientific developments in this area and create training programs for relevant specialists.

On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, we asked the top IT companies what they would most like to wish for and receive in the industry and what wish they would write in a letter to the wizard. Here is the wishlist from IT people.

Front-End Tech Lead at Silpo, Eugene Rusakov, created a website for convenient monitoring of popular movies and TV series. At first, it was a tool for personal use, but now it is open to everyone. Ratingo will be useful for those who want to know what people are actually watching right now (data is updated every 10 minutes) so as not to waste time on fake «trends» of streaming platforms.

Designer and vibecoder Denys Osadchyi assembles custom PCs and makes cases for them by hand in various styles. This hobby began with the decision to return to Windows after many years of using Apple technology. He wanted to make for himself not just a working piece of hardware, but a kind of art object on the table. For this, his student passion for computers and school skills in metalworking and microelectronics came in handy. During his hobby, he converted old printer cases, an industrial computer from an ATM, and a media server for surveillance cameras into PCs. He plans to make the most durable and mobile PC for the military.
