“We can simulate war in its entirety.” The founder of Logics7, which has developed over 50 types of simulators for various weapons, on staying afloat and even growing during war
Over the past three years since the start of the full-scale invasion, hundreds of new weapons have appeared in Ukraine, both provided by foreign partners and developed by Ukrainian inventors. In a case where a single shot from a certain weapon can cost as much as $30,000, and training a single soldier can cost up to $20,000, the ability to train using virtual simulators with dummies that mimic real weapons helps in this process.
Logics7 is the company that develops such simulators. Almost on the verge of closure, with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the company directed all its efforts to help our defenders, and in just one year, the second year of a full-scale war, the company’s revenues increased tenfold. The company’s founder, Igor Belov, told dev.ua how it was possible to achieve such results, what the company offers defenders today, and how Logics7's large-scale plans can help translate real war into the virtual world.

Technology as a game changer in small communities: a case study of a school DIY lab from savED and the Tokarev Foundation
There is a persistent shortage of technical specialists in Ukraine, which did not disappear during the full-scale war. According to a study by the Kyiv School of Economics , the demand for engineers with knowledge of electronics and automation, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and mechanical engineering will grow rapidly over the next 5 years. The starting point for training such future specialists was laid by the state during children's school education. Since 2020, Ukraine has approved the Concept for the Development of Science and Mathematics Education, the basis of which is STEM. This is an educational approach through which students test knowledge in various areas of science and technology in practice, in particular, through their own projects in a number of industries - from robotics and 3D printing to environmental research and bioexperiments. One of the challenges in the development of STEM education is the creation of modern laboratories and centers for working with technologies in practice on the basis of educational institutions. With the support of philanthropists, such spaces are a reality during the war, even in small communities in front-line regions, where children have been studying online for years due to the tense security situation. Using the example of a pilot DIY laboratory in the Dnipropetrovsk region from the savED charitable foundation and the Tokarev Foundation , we tell you how such locations work and why technological philanthropies are now co-initiating their creation.

With his new tariffs, Trump has cut off Americans from super-cheap goods from China. For Temu, this is a possible loss of over 180 million consumers, and for the US, such a change could cost up to $13 billion annually.
The United States has had a tariff exemption for almost a century, known as “de minimis,” which allowed goods up to a certain amount to be imported duty-free. The idea was to allow Americans to bring home souvenirs from their travels without any hassle. Over time, “de minimis” became a loophole for Chinese marketplaces that was closed yesterday. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order closing this loophole for cheap goods from China, effective May 2. Packages worth up to $800 enjoyed a “minimal” exemption from additional duties, allowing foreign online retailers like Temu and Shein to sell super-cheap goods to American consumers.

There are Star Wars, and there are cloud wars. So, the first episode has started in Ukraine. Have you heard about this? We tell you in detail
At the beginning of a large-scale war, the world’s largest cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Gloud, supported our IT infrastructure in a timely manner. Many state services were placed on foreign servers for free, and blackouts, missile strikes, or physical seizure of offices no longer frightened them from that time on. Banks were also urgently allowed to take their IT infrastructure abroad. Privatbank, the country’s largest bank, urgently «moved» from Dnipro to the global cloud in the spring of 2022.
