Ukrainians have already learned to prepare well for power outages: power banks are charged, flashlights are in an accessible place, some have a charging station, some have a generator. But there’s another system that we often only think about when it stops working: communications. And the latest attacks show that the problem today is not just the lack of electricity. Russia is not only attacking energy infrastructure. Data centers, communication nodes, provider equipment, and other elements of digital infrastructure are also under attack.

The story of the creation of the new social platform MoodiMix began as an ordinary student project of two friends who wanted to spend their summer vacation usefully. When a service runs 24/7 and has external and internal consumers, there is virtually no window for maintenance. This is the task that the SharksCode team faced when migrating a high-load backend component along with its data layer to a new infrastructure and a new data storage scheme. The old implementation began to limit scalability and make it difficult to scale the read and write load independently. Meanwhile, any schema changes and releases were becoming increasingly risky. The company was preparing the system for further growth and wanted to do it without a single minute of downtime.

Ten years ago, the process of loading and unloading grain elevators (granary) "Kernel" by grain trucks worked according to a linear analog algorithm.
